In the early 1990s,the aqueous electrolyte lithium-ion battery with aqueous solution aselectrolyte and LiMn2O4 / VOx as cathode and anode was invented. It is expectedto have high safety and low production cost, which has been widely concerned.However, it can not be commercialized because of the poor cycle stability ofVOx.
In 2009, Wanxiang EV Co., Ltd.invented an electrochemical system with LiMn2O4 as cathode and Zinc depositionanode. Zinc deposition anode has better electrochemical and economicperformance than VOx. This system has received the attention and follow-upresearch of a large number of academic institutions. However, the problem ofzinc dendrite has never been completely solved.
AQUION ENERGY invested by BillGates was established in 2012, which is committed to the production andapplication of aqueous battery. However, due to high cost and extremely lowcharge discharge rate, it is difficult to compete with lithium-ion battery.
2015 ZINC POLYMER ANODEZNX
In 2015, JINGYAN pioneered thezinc polymer anode ZnX，whichcompletely solved the zinc dendrite problem. This material has highreversibility, and its non-toxic and environment-friendly. At the sametime, the process is mild and the manufacturing cost is low.
JINGYAN has the intellectual property rights ofmaterial and can produce tons of materials stably at present.
2019 ALUMINUM FOIL COLLECTOR TECHNOLOGY:
Current collector technology isone of the major problems hindering the development of aqueous battery. In2019, JINGYAN successfully developed the treated aluminum foil collectortechnology, which greatly improves the rate performance of our battery. Benefit from thistechnology, the battery can use mature lithium battery manufacturing equipment,which promotes the mass production process of the battery.
2020 POWER INSTALLATION EXPERIMENT:
Thanks to the excellent rateperformance, in 2020, Jingyan applied the aqueous battery to the power fieldfor the first time, and completed the installation experiment.
2021 AQUEOUS SODIUM-ION BATTERY:
Aqueous Na-ion battery withoutlithium resources has been developed, which further reduces the cost of energy storage battery.
